Drunken Cows Milk

Why I Love This Recipe
This was one of those recipes that when I saw it...i had to try it...immediately. It's very sweet. Almost syrupy but not quite. And it's nice and citrusy but not nearly as much as Limoncello. Did I mention how smooth it is going down? Ya...smooth as silk.
There are variations of this drink: The sugar can be reduced. You can add vanilla. You can also leave out the citrus all together. Or use 2 oz of grated 70% bittersweet chocolate and 1/2 lemon (no oranges)....which I believe I will be trying next (did someone say Malt Balls?).
Ingredients You'll Need
2 cups vodka
2 cups whole milk
2 cups sugar
2 oranges, cut into chunks
1 lemon, cut into chunks
Directions
Combine all of the ingredients in a large jar (1/2 gallon)
Screw on the lid and keep in a cool dark cupboard for 10 days. Every day, take the bottle out and give it a good shake or stir. Return to it's place of hibernation.
Once the 10 days is up, strain out the solids: first with a large colander to catch all the orange and lemon chunks. Then with a mesh strainer.
At this point you can drink it as is. It tastes like a liquid creamsicle.
For the clear yellow liqueur, filter out all of the milk solids by placing a coffee filter in the mesh strainer. You will need to change the filter often as the milk solids cling to the filter and block the liqueur from making its way out.
