Apple Pudding
Why I Love This Recipe
I entered this recipe in a local apple recipe contest and won $10 first prize. It is one of my favorite desserts.
Ingredients You'll Need
1 c. sugar
1/4 c. shortening
1 egg
3 medium apples, diced but not peeled
1 c. flour
1 t. soda
1/2 t. cinnamon
1/4 t. nutmeg
1/8 t. salt
Stir in 1/4 c. nuts and
1/2 c. chopped dates
Directions
Mix all, then add sifted together sugar, shortening, egg and apples
Then add remaining ingredients
Bake in greased pan (I used 11 x 7-inch Pyrex) at 350 degrees for 25 minutes. (Test for doneness, but do not over bake as this is a moist cake.)
Serve with sauce.
