Candy Bar Bars
Why I Love This Recipe
My mom gave me this recipe.
This is how she uses up all of her left over candy every holiday! Makes 4 dozen bars
Ingredients You'll Need
3/4 c (1 1/2 sticks) butter or margarine, softened
1/4 c peanut butter
1 c firmly packed brown sugar
1 tsp baking soda
1 1/2 c all-purpose flour
2 c quick-cooking oats
1 egg
1 (14 oz) can sweetened condensed milk
4 c chopped candy bars (chocolate-coated nougat, wafer cookies, chocolate and caramel-topped cookie bars or chocolate-covered peanut butter cups)
Directions
Preheat oven to 350F. In large bowl, combine butter & peanut butter until smooth; add brown sugar and baking soda. Beat well; stir in flour and oats. Set aside 1 3/4 c of peanut butter mixture.
Stir egg into remaining peanut butter mixture in bowl. Pat into a 15x10" baking pan. Bake 15 min. Remove from oven.
Spread condensed milk over crust. Stir together reserved peanut butter mixture and chopped candy bar pieces. Sprinkle mixture over all.
Bake 25 minutes or until golden brown. Cool and cut. Store leftovers loosely covered at room temp.
