CHICKEN BARLEY CASSEROLE

Ingredients You'll Need
1 c. pearl barley
1/2 c. butter
1 medium onion, chopped
1 pkg. dry onion soup mix
1 small jar mushrooms or 1 c.
fresh
1/3 c. slivered almonds
2 c. chicken broth
water chestnuts (if desired)
Directions
Brown barley in butter. Add chopped onion and cook
until soft. Add remaining ingredients and simmer until barley is cooked. Place in greased 8 x 8-inch pan or casserole and bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour.
