Why I Love This Recipe

This is one of the Pillsbury best recipes that made it into one of their books and quickly became a favorite at the Choi Kwang Do studio where I teach and train. It's like an oaty blondie with plenty of ooey gooey. It goes together in a flash and is especially nice cut in small fingers and arranged with shortbread cookies and dipped strawberries.

Ingredients You'll Need

Base:
2 1/4 cups oats
1 1/4 cups brown sugar
1 cup flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1 cup (2 sticks) butter, softened

Filling:
1 (14 ounce) can condensed milk
1/4 cup peanut butter
1/2 teaspoon vanilla

1 cup chocolate chips
1/2 cup chopped peanuts

Directions

For the base, mix together:

2 1/4 cups oats

1 1/4 cups brown sugar

1 cup flour

1/2 teaspoon baking soda

1 cup (2 sticks) butter, softened

until crumbly and reserve two cups for the topping. Press this stuff into a 9x13 pan. For the filling, mix together:

1 (14 ounce) can condensed milk

1/4 cup peanut butter

1/2 teaspoon vanilla

and spread this over the base. On top of this sprinkle on :

1 cup chocolate chips

1/2 cup chopped peanuts, but I usually leave this out

reserved topping

and press gently. Bake at 350 for 25-30 minutes or until gold around edges (center shouldn't be set).
