Coconut Nut Bars

Why I Love This Recipe
Ingredients You'll Need
Crust:
2 cups crushed graham crackers
1/4 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp nutmeg
1/4 cup lightly packed sweetened flaked coconut
1/4 pound/ 8 Tbs/ 4 oz butter, melted
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
Topping:
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
9 ozs sweetened condensed milk
3/4 cup semisweet chocolate chips
3/4 cup lightly packed sweetened flaked coconut
1/2 coarsely chopped nuts of your choice
Directions
Preheat oven to 350°F. Spray a 9x9x2-inch baking pan with cooking spray. Line pan with foil and spray again. Set aside.
In a large bowl, mix the first four ingredients. Add the butter and the vanilla extract and mix to combine, until the mixture starts to come together. Press into the prepared pan. Bake crust for 12 minutes in the preheated oven. Remove from oven and set aside while you make the topping.
In a small mixing bowl, stir the vanilla extract into the condensed milk. Sprinkle the chocolate chips onto the baked crust, followed by the coconut. Top with the nuts. Drizzle the condensed milk-vanilla extract liquid over the nuts, making sure to moisten the sides and corners.
Bake for 20-30 minutes or until the topping is set and the coconut flakes have browned slightly.
