French Breakfast Puffs

Why I Love This Recipe
These light airy puffs are a joy to eat and are the perfect partner to a good cup of coffee.
This is a great addition to a brunch or a treat for coworkers on a dreary morning. Enjoy!!
Ingredients You'll Need
1/3 C. shortening
1/2 C. sugar
1 egg
1 1/2 C. flour
1 1/2 t. baking powder
1/2 t. salt
1/4 t. ground nutmeg
1/2 C. milk
1/2 C. sugar
1 t. cinnamon
1/2 C. margarine or butter, melted
Directions
Heat oven to 350 degrees. Grease 15 muffin cups. Mix shortening, 1/2 C. sugar and egg.
Stir in flour, baking powder, salt and nutmeg alternately with the milk. Fill muffin cups about 2/3 full.
Bake until golden brown, 20 to 25 minutes.
Mix 1/2 C. sugar and the cinnamon.
