Funeral Potatoes

Why I Love This Recipe
These potatoes always show up at a 4th of July celebration at a family friend's house. We call them Jana's Potatoes. Someone else called them Funeral Potatoes because they were always at funeral receptions at a church. Either way they are yummy and super easy. These are great for potlucks or big family gatherings.
Ingredients You'll Need
1 pkg. frozen hash brown cubes
1 can cream of chicken soup
1 med. container sour cream
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1/2 cup chopped onion
Directions
Method:
Put frozen potatoes in the bottom of a greased casserole pan. In a separate bowl mix cream of chicken soup, sour cream, cheddar cheese and chopped onion. Spread this mixture over the potatoes (think frosting). Bake at 350 for 45 minutes.
The recipe I have suggests making a crispy crust with 1/2 cup melted butter and 1 cup corn flakes. Spoon this mixture over the soup, sour cream, cheese, onion mixture. I've never done that part so I couldn't tell you how it tastes.
