Why I Love This Recipe

Ingredients You'll Need

1 1/2 cup flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
2/3 cup real butter
1 1/2 cup sugar
1/4 cup water
12 oz Bag Chocolate Chips
2 teaspoons of real vanilla
4 eggs
1 cup chopped walnuts

Directions

Combine the flour, salt. Set aside. In a small sauce pan add butter, sugar and water. Bring to a boil and take off the heat. Add chocolate chips. Allow chips to melt and stir until smooth. Put in a large bowl and add one egg at a time, beating in the eggs well. Stir in the flour mixture and bake in a well-greased 9x13 pan for 40 minutes at 350 degrees.

You can press in an additional 3/4 cup chocolate chips on top of the batter, using wet hands. You can also swirl in 3/4 cup of peanut butter into the dough after it's placed in the pan.

I have been making this recipe for about 18 years. It is tried and true and makes the kind of brownies that if they fell apart, you could stick them back together. Decadent, delicious every time.

Questions, Comments & Reviews

I will have to try these. I had heard that to make brownies like this you had to cut back on the eggs, so I have only been using two. I will definitely try these. I make brownies every week to send to work for hubby and his friends. Thank you for posting.
