Why I Love This Recipe
This is great for Thanksgiving!
Ingredients You'll Need
6 cups hot mashed sweet potatoes (fresh or canned)
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1 1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
6 tbsp. butter, softened
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 cup milk
3/4 tsp. ground allspice
1 egg
1/4 tsp. ground nutmeg
1/2 tsp. salt
18 large marshmallows
Directions
Serves 8-10
Ingredients:
6 cups hot mashed sweet potatoes (fresh or canned)
½ cup packed brown sugar
1 ½ tsp. ground cinnamon
6 tbsp. butter, softened
1 ½ tsp. vanilla
1 cup milk
¾ tsp. ground allspice
1 egg
¼ tsp. ground nutmeg
½ tsp. salt
18 large marshmallows
Preheat oven to 325 degrees. In a large mixing bowl, beat all ingredients except marshmallows until smooth. Transfer to a shallow, greased 2½-quart baking dish. Bake uncovered 40-45 minutes or until heated through. Top with marshmallows. Bake 5-10 minutes more or until marshmallows begin to puff and brown.
OR to prepare on night before:
Save the marshmallows, and place the baked dish in the fridge. On Day #2, reheat the dish in the oven, then take out, place marshmallows on top, and allow them to puff and brown in oven for 5-10 min. This is great for Thanksgiving!
Questions, Comments & Reviews
this but my twist to the recipe was to chill the ingred. then wrap around each
marshmallow, making a ball, then roll in coconut. Place in casserole dish,
& brown the coconut & melt the marshmallows. I plan to try your version--
thanks for old memories. Pat
