Stuffed Cabbage (Golobki)

Why I Love This Recipe
A family favorite. I grew up eating Golobki, but hated the cabbage that surrounded the beef. Now I can't get enough of the whole thing!
Ingredients You'll Need
1 lg. head cabbage
2 lbs. ground beef
2 tsp. salt
Pepper, optional
1 med. onion, chopped
1 egg
1/2 C. partially cooked rice
1/2 C. milk
2 cans tomato soup
1/4 C. ketchup
Directions
Get large pot of water boiling.
Cut core from head of cabbage and submerge cabbage in boiling water.
Cover and cook for 10 minutes.
Remove cabbage from pot and remove leaves, carefully.
If cabbage leaves are not coming off easily, put back in boiling water and cook a little longer.
Combine remaining ingredients and place 2 Tblsp. of meat mixture on one leaf of cabbage.
Roll up, egg roll style, securing with toothpicks.
Place rolls in a 9" x 13" pan. Mix together tomato soup and ketchup and pour over cabbage rolls.
Cover pan.
Bake at 375 degrees for 1-1-1/2 hours.
Great served with mashed potatoes and corn bread.
Freezes well.
