Why I Love This Recipe

I joined a morning Boot Camp workout program and decided that I wanted to start eating a healthy breakfast when I got home from the training. The problem is, I love a big giant breakfast but eggs, flapjacks and bacon aren't going to help take the weight off. I turned to oatmeal because it gives you that nice warm feeling like a big breakfast but it's much healthier. The problem is, oatmeal isn't very exciting. So I set out to change that.

Ingredients You'll Need

3/4 cup Quaker Oats -
(Quick 1 minute style. NOT instant)
1/2 banana
1/4 cup raisins
1 TBS Organic Maple syrup - Grade B
1 TBS Brown sugar
1-1/2 cups water
Coffeemate - to taste (gives a creamy texture)
dash salt

Directions

In a small saucepan cut up the bananas and mix all the ingredients together. Stir

Put the heat on VERY LOW

Cover and let cook for 15 min. Do not uncover during cooking.

Turn off heat, uncover and stir. The bananas will disintegrate into the mix. The oatmeal should be creamy. If it's too stiff, add some more water.

If there is a layer stuck to the bottom of the pan BONUS! Cover and let it sit unheated for 10 min. This will loosen the bottom stuff.

Pour oatmeal into a bowl. Use a plastic spatch to scrape the loosened bottom stuff into the bowl. It tastes like an oatmeal cookie...YUM.
