Tex Mex Potato Latkes
Now that I live in Texas, I am pretty heavily influenced by tasty Texan foodie delights such as queso, brisket, breakfast tacos, and of course queso. Mmm queso. So when I thought about how to jazz up the traditional latke, I immediately thought Mexican. Besides my residence close to the border, my former roommate back in NYC is half Jewish and half Mexican and she turned out pretty amazing, so surely it could work for a latke! An idea was born. Though there is no queso in sight, there is not a chance these babies will last even one round of dreidel come Hanukkah time. Submitted by: "Amy Kritzer"Morrocan Meatballs
This recipe is from my cookbook 'Well Fed: Paleo Recipes For People Who Love To Eat' and my blog The Clothes Make The Girl (http://www.theclothesmakethegirl.com) where I write about my adventures in the kitchen, the gym, and life. Morocco has long been on my list of must-visit countries. Twisty alleys, markets crowded with vendors, scampering trained monkeys... I need to see it all. The country sits in the northwestern corner of Africa, and the influence of Arab and Moorish invaders can be tasted in traditional Moroccan cuisine. Lucky us! Spices like aromatic cinnamon, cumin, and paprika are prevalent, along with herbs like mint and parsley. These meatballs are seasoned with essential Moroccan spices, then simmered in tomatoes that cloak them in a sauce that tastes like mystery and adventure. Hello, everyone! My name is Lizz and I run a blog called "lizz delicious," a vegan cooking and eating website created right here in Austin. I've been blogging for just over a year now and am still loving every minute of it! One of the things I like most about sharing my recipes is creating dishes that you wouldn't immediately expect to be vegan. This chili is a great example. The chipotle peppers in it give it a unique flavor. And a bowl of this stuff would go great with some hearty corn chips, fluffy corn muffins, or a slice of cornbread focaccia (the recipe for which can also be found on my blog!). Enjoy! The brain child of a near empty refrigerator and checking account, I lovingly share with you my recipe for quinoa mac & cheese. It took me awhile to love quinoa – and honestly? I still don’t LOVE IT love it – but recipes like this make it easy to learn to love quinoa. Submitted by: "Corrin Foster"Salted Caramel Thumbprint Cookies
I am not a baker. So, when my Salted Caramel Thumbprint Cookies turned out, no one was more surprised than me! Life is about stepping out of your comfort zone and well baking from scratch is quite uncomfortable! This recipe is easy. Very Easy. The cookies are melt-in-your mouth delicious with the perfect combination of sweet from the caramel with the sprinkling of sea salt. Truly a match made in cookie heaven. The hubby and I love to make grilled pizzas. The crusts are easy to make, and they turn out so well on the grill -- plus it's a lovely excuse to get outside on a beautiful day! Submitted by: "Lauren Walz"Holy Moly Jalapeño Poppers
The jalapeño poppers recipe comes from hanging out on Saturdays in the South at BBQs in backyards over beers. If you have ever smoked a pork butt or brisket or rack of ribs, it takes time and is well worth it. But you need snacks and nothing is better than coming up with items you can throw on the smoker, or grill, during the day to munch on and hold over your appetite. This is one of those such items. Submitted by: "Michael Benedict"Local Savour Cabbage Salad with Texas Orange Poppyseed Dressing
Beautiful Texas oranges with a touch of brown sugar and poppy-seeds gives this salad just the right amount of gusto. An excellent perk of a good cabbage salad is that it lasts for a couple of days in the refrigerator, that is if you don't eat all of it first. Sip'n on summer ~ Texas peaches soaked in rum with spices make for a great summer evening libation. Submitted by: "Elizabeth Van Huffel ~ LocalSavour.com"Potatoes Sarafina
This recipe was my first entry into a recipe contest. Tasteful Selections™ Potatoes contacted me to first write about their contest, but I also decided to enter and won first prize! Submitted by: "Meagan K. Warncke"Crispy Chicken Tortilla Rollups
I created these flauta-chimichanga hybrid for our Cinco de Mayo celebration last year, and they were a huge hit. I was absolutely floored when this recipe became very popular via Pinterest and a couple of other sharing sites. This is hands down my most popular recipe to date -- it's been pinned more than 52K times! I have received a lot of positive feedback via comments and e-mail that other people enjoy it a lot as well. This one is popular for a reason...and I hope you enjoy it too!! Submitted by: "Wendy (The Weekend Gourmet)"Peanut Pumpkin Bisque, From Maggie's Farm
I almost look forward to cold and flu season. Because it comes during the cooler, crisper days I prefer. Because it gives one a great excuse to hunker down in bed all day with movies or books or puppies or whatever. And, because this soup—this bowl of goodness—it's our medicine. It's really quite healthy—full of vitamins and antioxidants that support the immune system, and our favorite feature--a slight slow burn on the back of the tongue as a sort of culinary afterthought—soothing to the throat during the occasional bout of sniffles we're sure to endure. At the first sign of a tender throat, we're likely to pass the bottle of cough syrup by for a jar of this simple Peanut Pumpkin Bisque. Submitted by: "Maggie Perkins"Grandma's Favorite Lemon Tart
Growing up we always had a ton of citrus and fruit trees on our property and twice a year my grandmother would come to stay with us to help pick, can and bake. Lemons, oranges, apricots, and plums were the order of the day and we were up to our eyeballs in fruit! My grandmothers favorite however was lemons! So twice a year when she was at our home, she would make a lemon tart in the middle of the all the picking, canning & baking insanity. Here’s some quick information regarding how our cookbook platform works, along with a few tips for making the most of cookbooks you add to your library.
What is the Cookbook Café Platform?
Cookbook Café is our one-of-a-kind cookbook publisher, marketplace and reader. It empowers everyone to create, market and distribute a cookbook as both a web-based eBook and an iPad app. It also makes it incredibly easy for home cooks to discover and use amazing grassroots cookbooks they won't find anywhere else. Since 2012, we've published thousands of cookbooks authored by home chefs, nonprofit organizations, clubs, brands, etc. Our goal is to democratize cookbook publishing and make it easy to build an online library of amazing grassroots cookbooks.
How do I "download" a cookbook?
You don't need to "download" cookbooks or deal with any files. All of the cookbooks you select (free and paid) using Cookbook Café become available to you automatically on any device (computer, tablet or smartphone) whenever you’re logged-in to your free BakeSpace account. When you see a cookbook you like, simply click the green "Get it Now" button. If you're not logged in to BakeSpace, you'll be asked to login (or join) so the cookbook can be added to your cookbook library. Once in your library, you can access the cookbook anytime, anywhere via BakeSpace.com, as well as our Cookbook Café iPad app.
While you're checking out cookbooks, also take some time to visit other parts of the delicious BakeSpace.com community where you can swap recipes and connect with others who share your passion for food and the culinary lifestyle.
Get ready to enjoy a uniquely smart and social cookbook experience!
Once a cookbook is added to your BakeSpace library, our proprietary recipe indexing technology makes it easy for you to find any specific recipe across all of your cookbooks… so there's no need to remember which cookbook contains that perfect recipe. In addition, you can connect directly with each cookbook author, leave comments/reviews and even ask questions about recipe substitutions, history, etc.

Happy Father's Day Day... Your Favorite Recipes

My dad grew up in Albania and I can always remember the kitchen being filled with things like cabbage, fresh bread, lamb and greek yogurt - the real kind, not the sweet kind you find in the store. He came to the US with no money and a dream of being an American. He always said, he was an American the day he was born. This is a collection of his favorite recipes. I've also added our BakeSpace Google Hangout where we talk about cooking with our dads.

I Got Baked: Introducing Cookbook Cafe
FREE
We think it’s time to democratize cookbook publishing! Thank you for downloading Cookbook Cafe and for joining us as we create an entirely new way to publish and shop for cookbooks. With Cookbook Cafe, any home chef, group or nonprofit organization can publish an interactive cookbook as both an iPad app and a web-based ebook. They can then give it away or sell it to the world for profit or fundraising via the Cookbook Cafe storefront. It's an idea whose time has come. After all, why should only "big name" chefs get a chance to make it as a cookbook author? Unlike other do-it-yourself publishing services that help authors create traditional ebooks or mobile apps, Cookbook Cafe is free AND not limited by technology platform. It functions across different types of devices, including the iPad and any desktop or mobile web browser. Best of all, many of the books you’ll find on Cookbook Cafe help support worthy nonprofit organizations that use community cookbooks to raise funds. Cookbook Cafe was created by Webby honored food social network and recipe swap BakeSpace.com. We've added my two favorite cupcake recipes to this cookbook so you can get an idea of what our cookbooks are like. If you have any questions, please send us an email at [email protected] or follow us on twitter @bakespace. Together let's change the world one recipe at a time!
